Modern Smart TVs use EMMC chips that have a finite lifespan (similar to SSD wear leveling). When the boot partition of the EMMC fails, the TV is dead. The Extract Tool can sometimes access the pre-boot ROM to initialize a new EMMC partition or extract a backup from a working donor board.
