The third act introduces Doomsday, a generic CGI monster. The movie tries to juggle too much: a political drama, a superhero vs. superhero fight, and a monster movie. The final battle feels like a standard video game boss fight, which contrasts poorly with the gritty, grounded tone of the first two hours.

They confronted each other on a rooftop that looked out over both cities — where the skyline of Metropolis melted into the thorns of Gotham. Rain made rivers of the streets below. The Persuasion algorithms had streamed crowds into digital amphitheaters; millions watched, but the moment itself was painfully intimate.

It is impossible to discuss "extra quality" without addressing the elephant in the room: the R-rated Ultimate Edition. The tag almost certainly refers to this cut. Why? Because the MPAA ratings board forced cuts to the theatrical version for a PG-13 rating.
