While there isn’t a single academic paper solely dedicated to , the font is a recognized part of contemporary typography by Chank Diesel
Unlike standard sans-serifs where terminals cut off abruptly, Chaloops Medium introduces a gentle curve back into the stem of letters like ‘l’, ‘h’, ‘f’, and ‘k’. This loop is not decorative to the point of distraction; rather, it mimics the natural motion of a pen lifting off paper.
The name is an Americanized plural of "Chalupa," a nickname used by Chank’s mother-in-law for her two small dogs.
I don’t use custom fonts anymore. System defaults only. But sometimes, late at night, I’ll open a blank document and type a single word— “remember” —in Helvetica.
