On November 26, 2008, a series of coordinated terrorist attacks took place in Mumbai, India. The attacks, which lasted for four days, were carried out by a group of terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Taiba organization.
The first attack took place at the CST railway station, where a large number of people were present. The terrorists opened fire on the crowd, killing several people and injuring many more. From there, the terrorists moved to the Leopold Cafe, a popular tourist spot, where they opened fire on the customers.
The security forces also showed great bravery and professionalism during the attacks. The NSG team, led by Major General Vijay Kumar, conducted a series of operations to rescue the hostages and neutralize the terrorists.
In the years since the attacks, several investigations have been conducted, and several people have been arrested and convicted in connection with the attacks. In 2018, the Indian government announced that it had killed the mastermind behind the attacks, Hafiz Saeed, in a drone strike. However, this claim was later denied by Hafiz Saeed himself.
The 26/11 attacks were a major wake-up call for India, highlighting the need for improved counter-terrorism measures and enhanced security protocols.
