With Tarakasura dead, the Devas reclaimed heaven. Skanda did not seek power for himself. He reunited with his parents, Shiva and Parvati, bringing joy back to the austere life of the hermit-god.

: Skanda was born from the divine energy (tejas) of Lord Shiva. In some versions, this energy was so powerful that it was carried by Agni (the fire god) to the river Ganga and finally nurtured in a thicket of reeds, where the six-faced child emerged.
